For convenience, here is an updated list of changes to the city of Lansing’s schedule, building access, etc. due to the current health emergency. We will continue to update as conditions warrant.

Lansing city offices: from now moving forward, public access to city buildings is prohibited. City offices are still open and it is best to communicate with staff through email and by phone during regular business hours. Call 913-727-3036 with questions.

Lansing Community Center (800 1st Terr.): closed to the public through at least April 24. Staff will be calling folks who have rented the Community Center and offering to help find an alternative date for your event, or to refund your deposit. Call number posted above for more information if needed.

Lansing Activity Center (108 S. 2nd St.) closed to the public through at least April 24. Call 913-727-2960 during regular business hours or email With youth sports, check the Lansing Parks and Recreation Facebook page for updates.

Lansing Community Library (730 1st Terr.) closed to the public through at least April 24. Call 913-727-2929 for more information.

Other important information:

*The City is suspending mandatory dog and cat licensing until at least June 1; if you want to renew your pet’s license, the City is only accepting documentation and payment through the USPS and via the drop box located to the east of City Hall, 800 1st Terr.

*The City is waiving utility bill late fees for March 2020, which are usually incurred after the 25th of each month. Residents are encouraged to pay online at, by USPS mail, or use the drop box by City Hall.

*Lansing Municipal Court trials set for Fri., March 30 have been postponed and will now take place on Fri., May 22, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. The Wed., March 25, 2020 scheduled court session has been canceled. Anyone set for an appearance on that date will have it continued to Wed., April 22, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.
