CITY SCHEDULES FOR JULY 4 HOLIDAY; PERSONAL FIREWORKS USAGE IN LANSING

City of Lansing offices will be closed on Fri., July 4, 2025 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. The Lansing Community Library will be closed on Fri., July 4; Sat., July 5 as well as Sat., June 28 to support the Lansing Independence Holiday event at Lansing High School.

Waste Management/Deffenbaugh’s trash and recycling collection is not impacted by the holiday, as the 4th of July falls after Lansing’s regular Thurs. collection day. Trash is scheduled to be collected as usual on Thurs., July 3 and Thurs., July 10.

Fireworks can be discharged within Lansing city limits from July 1 - 4 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m., except on July 4 when fireworks can be discharged from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. Bottle rockets, sky rockets and sky lanterns are prohibited from being discharged. Individuals caught discharging these items within City limits will be cited and given a court appearance date.
