IMPORTANT! UPDATE ON LANSING INDEPENDENCE DAYS EVENT JULY 3

bus

Due to extremely wet field conditions, there will be NO PUBLIC PARKING at this Saturday’s (July 3) Lansing Independence Days event at Bernard Park (15650 W. Gilman Rd.)

Event attendees now must use one of two satellite parking locations and free shuttle buses. Lansing officials now plan to run six shuttle buses – three from Lansing Elementary School, 450 W. Mary St. and three from Lansing High School, 1412 147th St. Buses will run approximately every 7 to 10 minutes, beginning at noon through 11 p.m. - until everyone who needs a shuttle ride has returned to their vehicle. Riders will notice color coding on their bus to remind them which bus to take when leaving Bernard Park after the show. Buses will be parked near the Bernard Park bridge to take attendees back after the show. Patience will be the key as buses will return to the schools once they are filled to capacity. Those who are waiting for buses will line up near the bus stop.

REMINDER: so that City staff and contractors can set up for the event, Bernard Park will be closed to the public on Fri., July 2 and Sat. morning, July 3. Lansing Independence Days will begin at 12 noon with music and other family-friendly activities. Bring chairs and blankets. Personal fireworks and BBQ grills are banned at this event.
