UPDATED 8.17.25: IDA STREET REOPENED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC

A final word about the project that temporarily closed Ida St. this summer: This sanitary sewer project, completed by the crew from Westland Construction, Inc., was an example of contractors going above and beyond. Westland was faced with challenging conditions on this project, including; unstable terrain of the old railroad crossing, tight construction limits, multiple high priority underground utilities and record setting rainfall since the project began. The City set a goal to have that project completed by mid-August and Westland Construction pulled every available resource to get the project completed as quickly as possible, considering all the challenges they faced. The contractor should be commended for their hard work, excellent communication and tireless work ethic to get the job done.

The intersection opened back up on Sat., Aug. 16.
