The city of Lansing Independence Day Fireworks Celebration is Sat., July 3, 2021 at Bernard Park, 15650 Gilman Rd. This year’s event will feature Country Music star Blane Howard in concert at approximately 8 p.m., followed by fireworks at about 9:45 p.m.

The day will start at noon with food vendors and inflatables available for families to enjoy. From noon - 10 p.m. there will be musical performances including DJStowW and local favorite Shayla Combs, who was an American Idol contestant this year. Headlining the show is CMT star and Nashville-based Blane Howard – perhaps best known locally for his Kansas City Chiefs rally song “Run It Back.” Chiefs’ mascot KC Wolf will also be in attendance from 6:30 – 8 p.m. The musical acts at this event will take place, rain or shine. A special thanks to local corporate event sponsors MainStreet Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram of Lansing and Mutual Savings Association.

Those attending must take advantage of the free shuttle service originating from Lansing High School and Lansing Elementary School, as public parking is prohibited due to extremely wet field conditions at Bernard Park. Shuttles will leave school parking lots beginning at noon and run every 7-10 minutes. The last shuttle prior to the fireworks show will leave school parking lots at 9:15 p.m.

Lansing Mayor Tony McNeill will open the show.

Please note: fireworks shall not be discharged within the event venue or within 500 feet of the perimeter of the display setup area. Lansing authorities also remind attendees that charcoal, propane or any type of BBQ grill is not permitted in Bernard Park.
