Council member Daniel Clemons has called Kansas home since the summer of 1997 when he was assigned to attend the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). He has called Lansing home since 2012.  He was elected as the Ward 4 City Council representative in 2021 and installed in January 2022.

Dan and his wife, Jacqueline, have been married since 1998. They have two sons residing in California and three daughters living in Leavenworth County. Their youngest is a Lansing High School Junior and will graduate in the 2022-23 school year. 

Council member Clemons and his family are members of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Basehor. He is also a member of American Legion Post 411 in Lansing and serves on his HOA Board of Directors.

His education includes a Journalism/Graphic Arts BA and Industrial Technology MS from Northeastern Oklahoma State University.  Dan also received a MA from Webster University in Information Resource Management while assigned to CGSC.

Daniel’s time in the Armed Service started in February 1974 as an E-1 artilleryman.  Dan retired from Fort Leavenworth in April 2003 at the rank of LTC.  Dan is a life-long Army Acquisition Corps member who primary specialty was in IT Software Management.  Dan continues to work full-time as an Army Contractor.
