Mayor Tony McNeill was elected in 2020; he was elected to the City Council in April 2009. He has been a resident of Lansing since 2002. McNeill retired from the Marine Corps in 2005 and is serving as the Deputy Director, U.S. Army SHARP Academy on Fort Leavenworth.

Mayor McNeill has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Dakota (1983) and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University (2004).

McNeill previously served on the Lansing Board of Zoning Appeals (2008-2009) and has been involved in the community serving as a volunteer coach in support of the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department's sports programs (2002-2006). He currently serves as a member of the Solid Waste Advisory Group and as a member of the Joint Fire Board.

Biography

Mayor McNeill enjoys baseball (die-hard Kansas City Royals fan), fishing and home improvement projects. He has been married to his wife, Nina, since 1983. They have three children: two sons - Tylor, a Lansing High School graduate in 2007 and Washburn University graduate, 2012; Sam, who graduated from Lansing High School in 2013 and attends the University of Kansas; and a daughter, Ellie, a Lansing High School graduate in 2009 and Kansas City Kansas Community College graduate in 2012. McNeill has two grandchildren, Sophie and Sadie.
