Aquatic Center Rules & Regulations

General Rules 

  • All individuals ages 3 and up entering the aquatic center must pay admission, including supervising adults. 
  • To claim Resident Status, you MUST bring a government-issued photo ID with a Lansing address. Two pieces of mail will also be accepted.  
  • If a patron needs to leave the facility for any reason, guidelines for re-entry must be observed or full admission will be charged again. 
  • The air temperature must be at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit to open. 
  • The Aquatic Center will close during inclement weather. Rain check coupons may be issued to patrons as they exit the facility. Tickets will be given out for 30 minutes after closing due to inclement weather. Tickets may be used at the reopening of the same day or the next business day.  
  • Showers are required before entering the swimming pool. 
  • Persons with communicable diseases, rashes, skin, ear, or eye infections are not allowed in the water. 
  • Smoking, vaping, controlled substances, alcohol, and glass are prohibited. 
  • Smoking, vaping, or the use of tobacco is ONLY permitted outside of facility at least thirty (30) feet from facility.  
  • ZERO TOLERANCE for abusive, derogatory, slurs, or profane language towards patrons or staff inside of the facility.  
  • No loitering in the breezeway. 
  • An adult or guardian 16 years of age or older must be within arm’s reach of anyone who is considered a non-swimmer, less than 5 years old, or a swimmer that requires a life jacket. 
  • A person 16 years of age or older must actively supervise children 7 years of age or younger.  
  • 1 in water adult is required for 5 swimmers 7 years of age and younger.  
  • Lifeguards reserve the right to administer swim tests as needed. 
  • Life jackets are not permitted in the deep end of the pool or on the diving board. 
  • No food or coolers may be brought into the facility apart from coolers required for medical devices. There are picnic tables outside of the facility available for use. 
  • Only trained service animals are allowed. No emotional support animals, therapy animals, or pets. Service animals are not permitted in the water. 
  • The Aquatic Center and the City of Lansing are not responsible for lost or stolen items.  
  • Anyone caught vandalizing, stealing, or breaking-and-entering will be subject to prosecution. 
  • Lifeguards have the authority to enforce other rules as needed. 
  • Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to or eject from the premises any person failing to comply with these and other posted health and safety regulations. 

Supervision & Safety 

  • Children aged 12 and under MUST be accompanied and supervised at ALL times by a person aged 16 years or older. 
  • Persons suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol are prohibited from entering the Aquatic Center. Admission and dismissal are at the discretion of managers on duty.  
  • Talking to or distracting the lifeguards while on duty is not allowed. 
  • Diving from the poolside is prohibited. 
  • Conduct, which may result in injury, is not permitted. This includes running, rough play, dunking, intentional splashing, swinging from the ladders or handrails, and personal conduct that endangers the safety of oneself and others. 

Food & Drinks 

  • No glass containers in the pool area.  
  • No gum or tobacco products. 
  • Please place all trash in the proper containers. 
  • No food or drink in any part of the pool. 

Flotation Devices & Toys 

  • Only US Coast Guard-approved and facility-provided personal flotation devices are allowed with manager approval. 
  • All pool toys, such as diving rings and beach balls, are prohibited. 
  • All squirt/water guns and foam water blasters are prohibited. 

Personal Pets and Animals Policy

To ensure the safety, hygiene, and comfort of all guests, animals are not permitted in the Aquatic Center, except for trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be accompanied by a completed refund form that includes a written explanation. This form should be submitted to the Aquatics Manager. The Aquatics Manager will evaluate the request and make a decision. If the request is approved, please allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing. Refer to the refund form located in the Admissions Office. No cash refunds. 

  • A $5.00 cancelation fee will be assessed with all refunds.  
  • Card processing fees are non-refundable.
