Aquatic Center Rules & Regulations

General Rules
- All individuals ages 3 and up entering the aquatic center must pay admission, including supervising adults.
- To receive Resident rates, patrons MUST show a government-issued photo ID with a Lansing address, or a photo ID accompanied by a matching change of address confirmation from the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Vehicles.
- For military residents, show one (1) document with a Lansing address along with Military ID. Digital copies will be accepted.
- If a patron needs to leave the facility for any reason, guidelines for re-entry must be observed, or full admission will be charged again. Re-entry requires a handstamp or receipt to be shown to admissions staff upon entry.
- The air temperature must be at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit to open.
- The Aquatic Center will close during inclement weather. Rain check coupons may be issued to patrons as they exit the facility.
- Rain check Day Passes may be issued upon exit and will be available for 30 minutes after closure and are dated. Rain checks are valid for one (1) entry, for one (1) person, on one (1) day, and are only valid for the current season. Rain check Day Passes have no cash value, and lost or stolen passes will not be replaced. Patrons must present their passes for entry. No rain checks will be given if the facility closes within an hour of scheduled closing.
- No glass or gum.
- No smoking, vaping, controlled substances, or alcohol.
- Smoking, vaping, or the use of tobacco is ONLY permitted outside of the facility at least thirty (30) feet from the facility.
- No loitering in the breezeway, at the entrance of the facility, or around the fence.
- No climbing or leaning on the fence.
- ZERO TOLERANCE for abusive, derogatory, slurs, or profane language towards patrons or staff inside the facility.
- No food or drinks in the pool or on the pool deck.
- No coolers except for medical needs. There are picnic tables outside the facility for use.
- All trash must be disposed of in the proper receptacles.
- Diving from the poolside is prohibited.
- Conduct, which may result in injury, is not permitted. This includes running, rough play, dunking, intentional splashing, swinging from the ladders or handrails, and personal conduct that endangers the safety of oneself and others. Patrons must walk everywhere – NO RUNNING.
- Talking to or distracting the lifeguards while on duty is not allowed.
- When silhouettes, mannequins, or other training devices are in use, please do not disturb.
- Lifeguards and managers reserve the right to administer swim tests as needed.
- The Aquatic Center and the City of Lansing are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Anyone caught vandalizing, stealing, or breaking-and-entering will be subject to prosecution.
- Individuals suspected of drug or alcohol influence may not enter the Aquatic Center. Admission is at the manager’s discretion.
- Lifeguards and management have the authority to enforce additional rules as needed.
- Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to or eject from the premises any person failing to comply with these and other posted health and safety regulations.
Child Supervision & Safety
- Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible person aged 16 years and older.
- Children 7 and under MUST be actively supervised by a swimmer aged 16 years and older.
- Non-swimmers, children aged 5 and under, or anyone wearing a life jacket must always have a swimmer aged 16 years and older within arm’s reach.
Hygiene & Health
- Showers are required before entering the swimming pool.
- Persons with communicable diseases, rashes, skin, ear, or eye infections are not allowed in the water.
- Swim diapers are required for non-toilet-trained guests.
Flotation Devices & Toys
- Only US Coast Guard-approved and facility-provided personal flotation devices are allowed with manager approval.
- Life jackets and personal flotation devices are not permitted in the deep end of the pool or on the diving board.
- All pool toys, such as diving rings and beach balls, are prohibited.
- All squirt/water guns and foam water blasters are prohibited.
Current Channel (Lazy River) Rules
- Riders must always remain in the tubes.
- No swimming or walking is allowed.
- No horseplay on tubes (pushing, rocking, hitting, etc.)
- No diving anywhere along the lazy river.
- One rider per tube.
- Riders must enter and exit at designated entry and exit points.
Diving Board Rules
- Guests must be comfortable in deep water and may be asked to perform a swim test at the manager’s discretion.
- Guests must receive a hand signal each time from the lifeguard before going off board.
- Only divers are allowed in the dive area.
- No goggles, masks, or flotation devices are allowed off the board.
- One person is allowed on the diving board at a time.
- Divers must jump or dive straight off the board (no back flips)
- Divers must enter the water with both arms extended overhead.
- Use the nearest ladder to exit the diving area.
Pool Basketball & Water Volleyball
- No dunking.
- No touching the rim or net
- Players must be in the water to participate.
- No rough play.
- Keep gameplay in the designated area.
Aqua Climb Rules
- Lifeguard must be on duty
- Experienced swimmers only
- Only one climber at a time
- Only one swimmer at a time in the drop zone
- Feet first entries only – no diving, flips, or launching
- Exist using the ladder nearest to the Aqua Climb
- Only one climb up wall per turn

Personal Pets and Animals Policy
- To ensure the safety, hygiene, and comfort of all guests, animals are not permitted in the Aquatic Center, except for trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

No personal pets, emotional support, or therapy animals are permitted inside the Aquatic Center.

Service animals are not allowed in the water.

Refund Policy
All refund requests must be accompanied by a completed refund form that includes a written explanation. This form should be submitted to the Aquatics Manager. The Aquatics Manager will evaluate the request and make a decision. If the request is approved, please allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing. Refer to the refund form located in the Admissions Office. No cash refunds.
- A $5.00 cancelation fee will be assessed with all refunds.
- Card processing fees are non-refundable.
