The Lansing Parks and Recreation Dept. is hosting the annual Youth Fishing Derby on Sat., May 22, 2021 at Bernard Park, 15650 Gilman Rd.  The registration period is now closed.  PLEASE NOTE: There will be no on-site registrations accepted this year.

Fishing Derby Timeline

8:15 a.m. – Participant Arrival/Check-In (participants should be in place prior to 9 a.m.)

9 a.m. – Fishing begins

10:30 a.m. – Event ends (lunch will not be served this year)

All registrants will be entered in a raffle for prizes. Raffles will be called between 9 and 10:30 a.m. When fishing ends at 10:30, the Derby is over and you are free to leave or continue fishing, although it will not be part of the contest. Determination of winners will occur the week following the event and winners will be contacted to claim their prizes.

Cost includes bait and a giveaway – be sure to bring chairs and/or a blanket.  Youth up to the age of 15 may participate in the Derby.  All participants will need to bring a fishing pole and MUST be accompanied by an adult (one fishing pole per registered participant; adults are not allowed to fish during this event).
