Council member Marcus Majure was elected to a four-year term on the City Council in November 2019. He has been a resident of Lansing's Ward 2 since 2006. Majure, a combat veteran, served nearly 28 years and retired from the US Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2015. He is serving in the Combined Army Center, Assistant Chief of Staff, as the G3 Deputy, at Fort Leavenworth.

Council member Majure has a Bachelor of Science degree from Delta State University (1987) and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University (2002).

Majure serves our community as a volunteer on the Leavenworth County Fire District #1 Board since 2015. Majure is also a strong servant to our Lansing American Legion Post 411 since 2012. He has been involved in the community serving as a volunteer (Team Dad) for the Lansing High School Baseball program (2006-2015), coach / assistant coach in support of the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department's sports programs (2002-2012). Majure also served our community as the Co-Executive of the Lansing Reds Baseball Program (2012-2017).

Biography

Council member Majure enjoys spending quality time with his family, all sports, and hunting. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, since 1988. They have two children: sons - Taylor, a Lansing High School graduate in 2009, a graduate from Washburn University and the UMKC Dental School, currently serves as a Dentist in the US Army and married to our lovely Daughter In-law Jordan with our Grandson Jones; Hunter, a Lansing High School graduate 2015, attends Wichita State University.
